What we do

We travel to people who need a document notarised and cannot easily get to an office — which turns out to be most people who need a document notarised. Hospital rooms, kitchen tables, job sites, closing tables, driveways with an out-of-state car in them.

The work splits roughly into three: family and estate documents, property transactions, and the assorted urgent paperwork that arrives with no warning. Nearly all of it is time-sensitive, which is why we hold evening and weekend availability rather than filling the calendar nine to five.

What a notary public actually is

A notary public is a public officer commissioned by the State of Florida to serve as an impartial witness. We verify that the person signing is who they claim to be, that they are signing willingly, and that they understand they are signing. We then attach a certificate and a seal recording that verification.

That impartiality is the entire value. A notarisation is worth something precisely because the notary has no stake in the outcome and no reason to bend.

What we are not

We are not a law firm and not attorneys. A Florida notary is prohibited from giving legal advice, from drafting documents, and from telling you which form fits your situation. Doing any of those is the unauthorised practice of law and it is a crime in Florida, not a professional preference.

We are also not a notario público. In much of Latin America that title means a highly qualified attorney; in the United States it does not, and Florida bans notaries from using the term precisely because the confusion is used to defraud people. If you need legal help, you need a lawyer, and we will tell you so rather than take the booking.

How we work

• We quote before we travel.

  One number, covering the act and the travel. Not a rate and a surprise.

• We check the document first.

  Most failed appointments fail on something catchable by phone — a missing second witness, an expired ID, a copy no notary may certify.

• We say no when we should.

  If the signer is not lucid, or the document is defective, we will not seal it. A notarisation that gets thrown out later helps nobody.

• We keep a journal.

  Florida does not require it. We do it anyway, because it is the only contemporaneous record if a signature is ever questioned.

Credentials

Florida notary commission, bonded and covered by errors and omissions insurance, and background-screened through the National Notary Association. Commission number and certificate details are available on request, and we will show them at the appointment if you would like to see them.

You can verify any Florida notary commission independently through the Florida Department of State.
